Zamek w Kórniku

Kórnik, wielkopolskie

A moated castle on the edge of the water, Kórnik has stood since the Middle Ages, but its neo-Gothic look dates from a rebuilding of 1855, based partly on plans by Karl Friedrich Schinkel. It was home to the Górka and Działyński families, and its last owner, Władysław Zamoyski, left it to the Polish state along with an art collection and the arboretum. Visitors can see the museum interiors; the castle also houses the Kórnik Library and is a designated Historic Monument.
