This museum grew out of the passion of a local confectioner, Feliks Sałaciński, who began collecting as a boy. Its regional collections are grouped into archaeology, ethnography and history. An extension added in 2021 brought an exhibition pavilion and a permanent multimedia display, and two sculptures by Magdalena Abakanowicz stand in front of the building.
