Willy-Brandt-Haus Lübeck

Lübeck, Schleswig-Holstein

Willy Brandt, chancellor and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, is the subject of this museum and memorial in Lübeck's town centre, set up in his home town at the suggestion of Günter Grass. It occupies a restored patrician house at Königstraße 21, once the meeting house of the Zirkelgesellschaft merchants' fraternity and later home to the Higher Court of Appeal. Brandt himself was born elsewhere, in the St. Lorenz district.
