Katharinenkirche

Lübeck, Schleswig-Holstein

This is the only surviving monastery church in Lübeck, a Brick Gothic building from the early 14th century that once belonged to a Franciscan friary on Königstraße. Since 1980 it has served as a museum church and exhibition hall run by the Lübeck museums. Among the pieces on show is a copy of Bernt Notke's Saint George and the Dragon, whose original stands in Stockholm's old town. The church lies within Lübeck's World Heritage old town.
