Wilhelm-Swarovski-Beobachtungswarte

Heiligenblut am Großglockner, Kärnten

A building of glass and timber shaped like a rock crystal stands at about 2,400 metres above the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe, directly facing the Grossglockner in the Hohe Tauern National Park. On the upper floor, powerful telescopes let you pick out ibex, marmots and climbers on the rock. An exhibition on life above the tree line adds to the view and is free to enter during the summer season. You reach it along the toll road of the Grossglockner High Alpine Road.
