Weimarer Stadtschloss
Weimar, Thüringen
This former residence of the dukes and grand dukes of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach rises beside the Ilm, a neoclassical palace of four wings begun in 1789. Inside you can see the grand state rooms, including the festival hall and the palace chapel, as well as the Poets' Rooms, which commemorate the writers who worked in Weimar. It stands at the northern end of the Park an der Ilm and is part of the Classical Weimar World Heritage Site.
