Schillerhaus Weimar

Weimar, Thüringen

Friedrich Schiller moved into this house with his family in 1802 and died here in 1805. Built in 1777 for a merchant, it is the oldest house on the street, and the rear building keeps the name Münze, a reminder of a princely mint that once stood on the plot. Today it is a museum in the poet's former home and part of the UNESCO World Heritage ensemble Classical Weimar.
