Waldschule Alpl

Krieglach, Steiermark

Peter Rosegger had this forest school built at Alpl in 1902, with donations, to slow the drift away from the countryside. Lessons ended in 1975 for lack of pupils, and after a full renovation the house became a museum in 1982. The classroom and the Rosegger room survive in their original state. The building also holds the Austrian Hiking Museum.
