Textilmuseum der Brennet
Wehr, Baden-Württemberg
On the grounds of a working weaving mill in the middle of Wehr, this museum shows how the textile industry of southern Baden worked and lived. Across about 700 square metres you find looms, weaving and sewing machines, pattern books and 1920s posters. Workplaces re-created with figures, plus canteen and office scenes, bring daily life to the fore. A special focus is company life: festivals, sports and outings. The site itself goes back to a medieval ironworks, and a weaving mill moved in during 1863.
