Steinsburgmuseum

Römhild, Thüringen

This small archaeological museum gives an overview of southern Thuringia's early past, laid out in order across five rooms. The main draws are finds from the digs at the Celtic hillfort on the Steinsburg, on the Kleiner Gleichberg, and a reconstructed Latène-period flat grave from Einhausen near Meiningen. It stands in the Waldhaus settlement between the two Gleichberg hills, and is the first stop on the Keltenerlebnisweg, a 196-kilometre trail running from Römhild to Bad Windsheim.
