Stadtmuseum Hildburghausen
Hildburghausen, Thüringen
The Alte Post combines a 16th-century town house, a tower of the town wall and a timber-framed arcade, and now holds the history of Hildburghausen. The cellar deals with the Middle Ages, and the ground floor has a historic black kitchen. Upstairs the themes include the Thirty Years' War, Hildburghausen as a royal seat, the Biedermeier era, Joseph Meyer and the Bibliographisches Institut, and the copper-engraving tradition.
