Stadtmuseum im Schweizer Hof
Bretten, Baden-Württemberg
The Schweizer Hof stands in the heart of Bretten's old town, a half-timbered house from 1707/08 built when the town was rebuilt after the great fire of 1689. For well over two centuries it served as an inn, at times also as a brewery and distillery. Today it houses the town museum. Worth a look are the stepped vaulted cellars, which survive from the earlier building, the tithe house of Frauenalb monastery.
