Staatliche Kunsthalle Karlsruhe

Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg

Paintings from eight centuries hang here, chiefly by German, French, Flemish and Dutch masters. The building is among the oldest museum buildings in Germany, put up by Heinrich Hübsch between 1836 and 1846 in the round-arched style for the art collection of Baden's ruling family. Its core is the Mahlerey-Cabinet of Margravine Karoline Luise.
