Staatliche Antikensammlungen

München, Bayern

Greek, Etruscan and Roman art fill this museum, including a vase collection that goes back to King Ludwig I. The building is worth a look in itself: a neoclassical structure with Corinthian columns on the south side of Königsplatz, facing the Glyptothek, which holds the ancient sculpture. It was rebuilt after wartime bomb damage and reopened as a museum in the late 1960s.
