Glyptothek

München, Bayern

Ancient Greek and Roman sculpture fills this neoclassical building on Munich's Königsplatz, built by Leo von Klenze for Ludwig I. Main works include the Barberini Faun, the Drunken Old Woman and the pediment figures from the temple of Aphaia on Aegina. Two early kouroi, the Munich Kouros and the Kouros of Tenea, are also here. It is Munich's oldest public museum.
