Schwarzwälder Trachtenmuseum

Haslach im Kinzigtal, Baden-Württemberg

Housed in Haslach's former Capuchin monastery, built in 1630–32, this museum is devoted to the traditional costume of the Black Forest and its fringes. More than 100 life-size figures wear original clothing for feast days and everyday work, with themes such as the Bollenhut hat, bridal crowns, townspeople's dress and work clothes. It shows how costume varied from region to region in the 18th and 19th centuries.
