Schumannhaus Bonn

Bonn, Nordrhein-Westfalen

The composer Robert Schumann died here, having come in March 1854 as a patient to the private clinic that then occupied the house in Endenich. He stayed for two years. The neoclassical country house, built around 1790, is now a memorial, museum and music library run by the city of Bonn. The painters Carl Gehrts, Mihály von Munkácsy and Alfred Rethel were also treated in the clinic.
