Schallaburg

The Schallaburg lies about six kilometres south of Melk and is a Renaissance castle in Lower Austria. A castle was built here in the 11th century, and from 1540 it was extended into the building seen today. Since 1974 it has served as an exhibition centre of the province, and it pairs well with a visit to Melk Abbey.
