Sauerland-Museum

Arnsberg, Nordrhein-Westfalen

The Landsberger Hof of 1605 on Arnsberg's Alten Markt houses a museum on the history of the Sauerland under the Elector of Cologne. The route runs from the Duchy of Westphalia, from Christianisation to around 1800, on to the present, with attention to the Nazi era in the region. Media stations deepen the themes, and families get a hands-on area on the Old Stone Age and knights. A modern extension opened in 2019.
