Rickmer Rickmers
Hamburg, Hamburg
A three-masted steel cargo sailing ship lies in Hamburg harbour by the St. Pauli Landungsbrücken, serving as a museum ship. Launched in Bremerhaven in 1896, she first carried rice and bamboo from Hong Kong. Later she sailed as Max, then under the Portuguese flag as the training ship Sagres. Today visitors can go aboard and get a feel for life under sail.
