Komponistenquartier Hamburg

Hamburg, Hamburg

Several composer museums stand side by side in reconstructed town houses on Peterstraße in Hamburg's Neustadt, devoted to Brahms, Telemann, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Hasse, the Mendelssohns and Mahler. The exhibitions follow the composers' lives and the musical world of 18th- and 19th-century Hamburg. Among the displays are a model of a baroque opera stage, a clavichord and a spinet from 1730.
