Prinzenpalais

Oldenburg, Niedersachsen

This classical palace opposite Oldenburg's castle was built between 1821 and 1826 for two Russian princes and now shows art from the 19th and 20th centuries. The collection concentrates on German artists, from neoclassicism and Romanticism in the mid-1800s to the post-1945 period. It stands by the northeast corner of the castle gardens, close to other buildings of the state museum.
