Památník Jaroslava Haška
Lipnice nad Sázavou, Kraj Vysočina
This small house below Lipnice castle is where Jaroslav Hašek spent the last months of his life, and where he dictated the text of The Good Soldier Švejk to a scribe. The memorial exhibition, opened in 1959 and since extended, also recalls the humour and satire festivals held in the amphitheatre under the castle from that year. Hašek died here on 3 January 1923, and the house is a protected cultural monument.
