HLINÍKárium

Humpolec, Kraj Vysočina

A single line from the film Marečku, podejte mi pero!, "Hliník has moved to Humpolec!", turned this town into a place people travel to for a character who never existed. The museum, in the building that houses the cinema and information centre on Havlíčkovo náměstí, pays tongue-in-cheek tribute to him. The film's own writers, Zdeněk Svěrák and Ladislav Smoljak, contributed ideas when it was set up. Humpolec also put up a memorial plaque to Hliník in 2002, which is worth a look while you are there.
