Otto-Lilienthal-Museum

Anklam, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

Anklam is the birthplace of flight pioneer Otto Lilienthal, and this museum is devoted entirely to him. You will find his life and work, reconstructions of his gliders, and the inventions that he and his brother Gustav worked on. The building began as a local history museum, and a hall extension added more exhibition space in 1996. In 1999 it received a Special Commendation at the European Museum of the Year Award.
