Rungehaus Wolgast

Philipp Otto Runge was born in this house on Kronwiekstraße, close to Wolgast's harbour, in 1777. An interactive exhibition, redesigned in 2017, explores his world: the four engravings of the times of day that set out a programme for Romanticism, his colour theory, playing cards he designed, and the Pomeranian fairy tales he wrote down, including Vom Fischer un sin Fru. A picturesque inner courtyard belongs to the house.
