Museum im Steintor
Anklam, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Anklam's town museum occupies the Steintor, one of the oldest buildings in the city, spread over five floors. Its sections run from Slavs and Vikings on the Peene through the founding of the town, the Hanseatic era and medieval justice to the Thirty Years' War, the border position between Sweden and Prussia, and destruction between 1933 and 1949. Climb the 111 steps to the top for a view over the Peene valley and the town.
