Österreichisches Jüdisches Museum
Eisenstadt, Burgenland
Set in the former Jewish quarter of Unterberg, this museum presents Jewish history and culture in the Wertheimerhaus of 1719, built for the court merchant and chief rabbi Samson Wertheimer. The house's private synagogue, with its separate women's room, is part of the displays. Opened in 1972, it was the first Jewish museum in Austria after 1945.
