Haydn-Haus Eisenstadt

Eisenstadt, Burgenland

Composer Joseph Haydn owned and lived in this house from 1766 to 1778, and it now holds the Haydn Museum. The two-storey building has a plain Baroque stucco decoration on its facade and dates back to the 16th century, as an uncovered Gothic window shows. A broad gateway leads through to a small courtyard, and the rear of the property once abutted the old town wall.
