Oberharzer Bergwerksmuseum

Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Niedersachsen

Mining in the Upper Harz up to the 19th century is the theme of this museum in the middle of Zellerfeld. Models from the old mining school explain how man engines and other mining technology worked. A demonstration mine with visitor galleries is built from original machinery from a mine at Bockswiese. The open-air area includes a horse gin and a crushing mill. It is among the oldest technology museums in Germany.
