Neues Museum

Berlin, Berlin

Three collections share this building on Museum Island: Egyptian art and papyri, finds from prehistory and early history, and part of the classical antiquities. The architecture is a draw in its own right. Friedrich August Stüler designed it in the 19th century, the war left it in ruins, and David Chipperfield rebuilt it by 2009, completing the damaged parts in a plain modern style. It belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage site and was the most visited of the Berlin state museums in 2019.
