Museum für Islamische Kunst

Berlin, Berlin

On the upper floor of the Pergamon Museum's south wing, this museum, founded in 1904, shows Islamic art from the 7th to the 19th century, from the Mediterranean to Central and South Asia. The collection began with the facade of the desert palace of Mshatta, a gift from the Ottoman sultan. You will also see carpets, calligraphy and miniatures, and the Aleppo Room, wall panelling from a house in Syria.
