Neue Nationalgalerie

Berlin, Berlin

Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's glass pavilion at the Kulturforum is a landmark of classic modernism and worth a visit in itself. Opened in 1968, it shows 20th-century art from the Berlin Nationalgalerie. Its heavy roof rests on eight columns, leaving the main upper hall completely free of supports. A sculpture garden belongs to the museum.
