Neue Kammern

Potsdam, Brandenburg

Built as an orangery in 1747 for Frederick the Great, this building in Sanssouci Park was converted in the 1770s into a guest palace with four festive halls and a wing of guest rooms. It stands just southwest of Sanssouci Palace, mirroring the Picture Gallery on the east side. The ramps outside still recall the days when potted plants were wheeled in and out.
