Muzeum Wojska Polskiego w Warszawie

Żoliborz, mazowieckie

Set inside the Warsaw Citadel, this museum follows a thousand years of Polish military history, from the 10th century to the Second World War. The indoor galleries are especially strong on the 17th century and on the slide into anarchy in the 18th. Out front, a forecourt holds dozens of tanks, armoured vehicles, artillery pieces and aircraft, a mix of Polish, Soviet and Western machines mostly from the war years. Branches elsewhere include the Katyn Museum and the Museum of Polish Military Technology, housed in a fort in Czerniaków.
