The museum stands on the highest ground of the battlefield by the hamlet of Chlum, where the Prussian-Austrian war battle near Hradec Králové was fought in 1866. Its audiovisual exhibition tells the stories of soldiers and civilians on both sides through their own memoirs. The museum also looks after the lookout tower right next to it. It has been here since 1936.
