Muzeum východních Čech v Hradci Králové

Hradec Králové, Královéhradecký kraj

Jan Kotěra designed this building in 1909–1912 to resemble a classical temple, with a cross-shaped plan and a dome over the crossing. Inside are archaeological, historical and natural history collections, around two million items in all, from coins and ethnography to militaria and old prints. The museum also runs the 1866 battle memorial at Chlum, with its lookout tower.
