The gallery shows Czech and international art of the 20th and 21st centuries. It is housed in an Art Nouveau palace of 1912 by Osvald Polívka, whose entrance carries sculptures by Ladislav Šaloun and whose cornice is held up by three atlantes. Original stained glass and stucco survive, and the exhibition spaces were modernised in 2014–2016.
