Muzeum Regionalne w Brzezinach

Brzeziny, łódzkie

Housed in the neo-Gothic Buyno villa of 1903, this regional museum stands where the writer Maria Buyno-Arctowa and the actor Zbigniew Zamachowski were born. One exhibition digs into the town's distant past with finds from excavations in and around Brzeziny, among them a hoard of 14th and 15th-century silver coins from Dmosin, and old gravestones. Another tells the story of the town's tailors, whose trade flourished during the First World War and the interwar years. It shows a large collection of irons and Singer sewing machines, along with a reconstructed workshop.
