Muzeum Plakatu w Wilanowie

Warszawa, mazowieckie

Posters from around the world, from the late 19th century to the present, fill this museum in the grounds of the Wilanów palace and garden complex. It occupies a former palace riding hall from 1848, whose front facade still stands, with the New Gallery added later. The collection holds about 62,000 works, including Polish posters and the Polish School of Posters, plus pieces by Picasso and Warhol. Opened in 1968 as the world's first poster museum, it also stages temporary shows devoted to leading poster artists.
