Muzeum Martyrologii Wielkopolan

Poznań, wielkopolskie

This former Fort VII, one of eighteen forts of the Poznań Fortress and finished in 1880, was turned into a camp for Poles during the German occupation. It now houses a museum about their suffering. Visitors see letters written in the camp, everyday objects belonging to prisoners, photographs and documents, papers issued by the occupiers, rosaries and items made from bread. A card index of five thousand cards is kept here as a key source for historians.
