Muzeum Kornela Makuszyńskiego w Zakopanem

Zakopane, małopolskie

The villa Opolanka, where Kornel Makuszyński spent holidays and later lived permanently, now houses his museum. Its four rooms hold manuscripts, letters from readers and famous figures, book illustration designs, and the writer's furniture and household items. There are also paintings and sculptures, including works by Fałat, Skoczylas and Wyspiański. Outside stands a monument to him with Koziołek Matołek, his best-known character.
