Muzeum Archeologiczne w Krakowie

Kraków, małopolskie

Poland's oldest archaeological museum, founded in 1850, has been housed on Senacka Street since 1967. Its holdings run to more than 773,000 objects. Among the most prized is the Zbruch Idol, a statue of Światowid. The museum has run its own excavations, chiefly in Lesser Poland, including the area of Nowa Huta.
