Museum Weißenfels

Weißenfels, Sachsen-Anhalt

Weißenfels tells its own story from inside Neu-Augustusburg Castle, where the town's museum has been housed since 1964. It covers the history of the town and region, with three collections standing out: shoes, Vivat ribbons and cast ironwork. Its roots go back to a natural history and antiquities society formed in 1874, which gathered local archaeological finds, fossils and minerals.
