Heinrich-Schütz-Haus (Weißenfels)

Weißenfels, Sachsen-Anhalt

Heinrich Schütz spent his later years in this house and wrote important late works here. The Renaissance building on Nikolaistraße, put up around 1552, is largely preserved in its original state and is said to be the only home of the composer that can be visited in this form. The permanent exhibition on the ground and upper floors follows his life and work, with a focus on his late music and his ties to Weißenfels.
