Museum Karl-Marx-Haus
Trier, Rheinland-Pfalz
Karl Marx was born in this baroque house on Trier's Brückenstraße on 5 May 1818. Today it is a museum spread over three floors, covering his life and writings and the history of communism. The house itself, built in 1727 with a mansard roof, is a fine example of regional building style of the 18th century.
