This exhibition house on Frankfurt's Museumsufer occupies a neoclassical villa on the Sachsenhausen bank of the Main, built around 1910 and one of the few riverside villas still standing there. It stages changing shows on the art and cultural history of the Rhine-Main region, often drawing on loans from public and private collections. These span painting, photography, sculpture, graphic art, architecture and applied art. Since 2015 it has belonged to Goethe University.
