Museum für Fotografie

Berlin, Berlin

Opposite Zoologischer Garten station, this photography museum occupies a neoclassical building from 1909 that began life as an officers' mess. It also houses the collection of the Helmut Newton Foundation. The permanent display, Helmut Newton's Private Property, shows personal belongings of the photographer and gives a sense of the man behind the pictures.
