Museum Eckernförde

Eckernförde, Schleswig-Holstein

In the Old Town Hall on Rathausmarkt, this museum tells the story of Eckernförde: how the town developed, what archaeology has turned up, how its appearance changed, and its rise as a Baltic seaside resort, which has a section of its own. A historic model railway recreates the two stations and the harbour as they were in 1951, when the local railway still ran. The museum also holds the archives of the painters Carl Bössenroth and Max Streckenbach.
