Museum der Stadt Vils

This small town museum in the old "Schlössle" on Stadtgasse tells the story of Vils in Tyrol. You will find violins by the Rief and Petz makers, four paintings by the Baroque painter Balthasar Riepp, and documents and objects from the town's past. A geology room shows fossils found in and around Vils, and more Riepp paintings and a large nativity scene collection are in the Riepphaus next to the church.
